Empirical potential has been modified for α‐alanine intermolecular interaction, in order to perform a Periodic Bond Chain (PBC) analysis. Equilibrium and growth shapes have been predicted in vacuum and the equilibrium shape has been successfully modified by the solvent interaction. α‐alanine crystals have been prepared both in pure and in CaCO 3 aqueous solution. Then, habit modification was observed and surface morphology analysis has been carried out on metallized crystals. Epitaxial model acting at the α‐alanine/ CaCO 3 interfaces is also proposed.
