Single‐crystal hexagonal prism SrCO 3 microrods have been prepared by a simple solvothermal route. The effects of the reaction time, the content of 1,2‐propanediol and the reactants mass on the products have been investigated, respectively. The as‐synthesized microrods were characterized by X‐ray powder diffraction (XRD), field‐emission scanning electron microscopy (FE‐SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results reveal that the products have uniform shape and excellent monodispersity. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
