Cerium Sulfate octohydrate crystals were crystallized from aqueous solutions under controlled conditions. The solubility measurements were carried out on temperatures between 10 and 80°. Thermoanalytical methods were applied for the study of the thermal behaviour of this compound. Raman spectra of polycrystalline Ce 2 (SO 4 ) 3 · 8H 2 O and Ce 2 (SO 4 ) 3 · 8D 2 O recorded at 80 K are reported. The vibrational modes have been assigned by comparing the spectrum of both compounds and using structural considerations.
