The growth process of barium of sulfate crystals suspended in a supersaturated solution has been studied conductometrically. The mean linear rate R̄ has been plotted as a function of the growth affinity — Δμ/ RT . A first attempt has been made to fit the experimental growth data in the highest supersaturation range with surface nucleation models.
