R OBINSON 's pentagonal dodecahedral model represents a very interesting non‐crystallographical heterogeneous description of atomic arrangement in vitreous silica. The pair function distribution of this model has been calculated and compaired with a measured pair function distribution of vitreous silica. The pentagonal dodecahedral model seems to be a little better than cristallite models but cannot bear comparison with the continuous random network model.
