Colorless single crystals of cerium sulphate enneahydrate were grown from aqueous solutions under carefully controlled conditions of temperature and supersaturation. Polarized Raman spectra and vibrational assignments of oriented single crystals are reported. Several physical properties (density, refractive indices, dielectric constants, coefficient of linear expansion, specific heat, microhardness) are also listed.
