The morphology of voids in LiF single crystals is investigated using optical and electron microscope methods. – A difference in the growth and disappearance morphology is shown – the initial sharp corners and edges get truncated during the disappearance. – Kinetic studies on the disappearance of isometric voids were performed at a high temperature. The results show susceptible difference with the theoretical results for a void with sharp corners and edges.
