The influence of thermal pretreatment of NaCl + 0.7 mole% Ca 2+ single crystals on the critical flow stress and its strain rate sensitive part was investigated. On the basis of X‐ray diffraction experiments it could be shown that the characteristic values of mechanical parameters are related to different kinds of precipitates formed at particular annealing temperatures.
