Correlations between various properties (e.g. ionic conductivity, dislocation density, colourability, thermoluminescence, thermal recovery) of as‐received and irradiated KCl crystals containing up to about 20 mole · ppm Pb 2+ are revealed. On the basis of the above data and the model proposed by M ATSUNAMI et al. some speculations regarding the final irradiation product are presented.
