With the example of plastically deformed Sr‐doped KCl crystals it is shown that the internal structure of slip bands can be made visible by decoration with ultramicroscopically detectable precipipitation particles – created by suitable thermal treatment after deformation – and that the arrangement of the precipitations at the dislocations produces a caracteristic change of the photoelastic contrast in the slip band.
