A recent study suggests that many adolescents at risk for suicide go undetected, because their parents are unaware of the teens' thoughts, and because the teens deny having such thoughts. This means that suicide screening requires a “multi‐informant” and personalized approach, based specifically on risk factors for unawareness and denial, the researchers conclude.
