The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) has been upfront in its opposition to separating families, as has been happening in the United States under harsh immigration policies. Recently, its flagship journal released an open‐access collection of articles on family separation, focusing on the problems caused by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and toxic stress.
