Importance of diagnosis and treatment for psychosis develops over time, so treating it early is essential. However, diagnosing psychosis in its early stages, which are often in adolescence or earlier, is challenging. There are many other conditions — attention‐deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), tic disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), anxiety, and depression, and signs such as irritability — that complicate the diagnosis. And the prodromal phase lasts two years.
