At a panel on diagnostic challenges in early‐onset psychosis at the American Psychiatric Association annual meeting in New York City in May, some speakers focused on the importance of medications, and all referred to the fact that they are necessary. This is a fraught issue for clinicians, because they recognize that medications have adverse side effects.
