Children with attention‐deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have co‐occurring irritability at a rate of 25% to 45%. Irritability, characterized by temper outbursts and anger, is not a criterion for ADHD but is an associated feature. In one study, 38% of children with ADHD had irritability, ten times the rate in the general population.
