Two years ago the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics joined with seven other organizations to organize the National Council on Drugs to fill a void created by the demise of the National Academy of Science‐National Research Committee Drug Research Board. Dr. F. Gilbert McMahon has served as the Society's representative to the National Council since its inception. Dr. Ray Gifford, representing the American Medical Association, served as the first Chairman of the Council.
