The serum levels of rifampin after single 450 mg doses were much the same when taken as 3 gelatin capsules and 1 sugar‐coated tablet. The concentrations of rifampin in the serum of pulmonary tuberculosis patients on prolonged rifampin‐containing regimens were lower than the levels in control sub;ects and patients on a drug regimen Without rifampin. The difference is significant after 4 hours. The increased elimination of the drug should be taken into account in planning long‐term therapy with rifampin.
