The effects of colestipol, clofibrate, and placebo were compared in 30 patients with serum cholesterollevels higher than 250 and triglyceride levels under 150 mg per 100 ml in a crossover fashion during a one‐year period. Colestipol reduced mean serum cholesterol concentration 13%. C lofibrate had a similar effect but aLm significantly decreased triglyceride levels. Four patients expressed nonspecific displeasure with colestipol, and 2 abandoned the study for this reason.
