Atropine sulfate, 175 µg per kilogram, was administered intramuscularly to 6 healthy, adult male volunteers. A continuous electrocardiogram revealed an initial slight increase in sinus rate followed approximately 5 minutes after drug by simple atrioventricular dissociation. This was usually complete with synchronization of atrial and ventricular rates. No significant cardiovascular symptoms were noted.
