Many drugs are bound to a single site on human albumin, and the extent to which they bind may markedly infiuence their pharmacologic activities. The extent of binding of a drug to albumin depends, in part, upon the affinity of the protein for the drug (K AP ). A method is described for the rapid and accurate determination of the K AP of a drug from a single value of its concentration in plasma and extent of binding to albumin.
