Homatropine in doses of 0.5 to 4.0 mg. was administered subcutaneously to 8 medical students and .28 hospital patients following a double‐blind technique. At first there was dose‐related slowing of sinus heart rate; the 4 mg. dose was the turning pOint above which there usually was acceleration. Neither the magnitude nor the duration of the cardiac slowing correlated with age, sex, race, body weight, or control heart rate. Electrocardiographic changes were minimal, although prolonged atrioventricular conduction was noted in some subjects.
