It is not intended to be an invidious distinction to point out that this book, with the exception of the first 20 pages on absorption, excretion, and tissue distribution, is very much a pocket version of R. T. Williams' classic, Detoxification Mechanisms . Williams was the author's mentor and has written a forward to this book (which I hope is no sign that he does not see his way clear to a third edition of his own book). The writing is clear and succinct and for those who are satisfied with the bare details on drug (in the broad sense of any foreign chemical) metabolism, this is the book. Those who want more will have to use R. T. Williams' Detoxification Mechanisms . I'm happy to have them both.
