Magnesium pemoline: Stimulant effects on performance of fatigued men

Compared to placebo, magnesium pemoline, 100 mg., facilitated performance of fatigued subjects in repetitious arithmetic problems for 3 to 8 hours after drug ingestion in a group of male subjects. There was a gradual decrement in performance; but performance after magnesium pemoline was superior to that after placebo during the entire 5 hour period. Subjects' judgments of their drug condition seemed unimportant.
