Navane (thiothixene) is a new, potent thioxanthene psychotherapeutic agent with clinical usefulness which parallels or exceeds that of most phenothiazine drugs. It is a major new antipsychotic agent. Navane (thiothixene) is effective in the management of acute or chronic schizophrenic patients either in a hospital or an outpatient setting. Particularly notable is the ability of the drug to improve alertness and increase the degree of purposeful effort and activity in chronically ill, apathetic psychotic patients. Patients in whom prior therapy has failed may respond significantly to Navane (thiothixene).
