The orotidylic‐decarboxylase activity in leukocytes and the urinary excretion of orotidine, orotic acid, and uric acid were determined in three patients with advanced cancer before, during, and after administration of urethane and 6‐azauridine. No influence of urethane on the biochemical changes induced by azauridine was noted. These findings cast doubt on the influence of urethane on carbamylaspartate biosynthesis in man.
