A mixture of iodochlorhydroxyquinoline and phenanthrolinedione was tested for its action on postoperative intestinal symptoms in man. The double‐blind technique was adopted, and a sequential approach was chosen showing that the preparation is significantly more active than the placebo. The results were confirmed by a discriminatory analysis carried out on the data collected.
