Whereas, formerly, interest was mainZy paramedical, in recent years medical interest in hallucinogenic drugs has greatly increased. Because of the Zarge number of new drugs with unusual effects as weil, there has been the hope that the drugs might lead to better understanding of abnormal mental processes. The history structure, and pharmacologic effects of these drugs in man is considered. In addition, differences hetween the effects in man and animals and differences in the actions of the several drugs are discussed.
