During about the last ten years the pharmaceutical industry both here and abroad has become increasingly active in the fabrication of dosage forms intended to impart prolonged, sustained, or long‐acting effect from their contained drug. A large number of papers concerned with their evaluation continue to appear in both the clinical and the scientific literature.
