In continuing our efforts to develop economical and ecofriendly synthetic protocols, we present a proline–palladium catalyst supported on magnetic nanoparticles (0.5 mol %) for oxidation by molecular oxygen. The supported Pd catalyst shows high activity in the oxidation of alcohols into the corresponding carbonyl compounds where easy catalyst recovery and excellent recycling efficiency are observed. It is possible to recover and reuse the grafted palladium catalysts at least eight times without significant loss of its catalytic activity.
