Cyclic tetramer of hydrogen‐bonded cations in the 1‐(2‐hydroxyethyl)‐3‐methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ionic liquid. Weinhold, Ludwig et al. could assign the observed vibrational modes in the infrared spectra to DFT‐calculated frequencies of clusters of like‐charged ions.
