The cover image shows the two failure mechanisms that occur when graphene is under a central load; in brittle bond breaking, cracks occur along the loading domain edge, whereas in plastic relaxation, cracks form inside the thermal control domain. In their paper on p. 2749 , H. Chen et al. reveal that the mechanical properties of graphene sheets are sensitive to both temperature and the symmetry of the loading domain.
