Quinoidal hoop‐shaped macrocycles: Raman spectra of cycloparaphenylenes of different sizes are measured and compared with those of linear oligoparaphenylenes and theoretical calculations. In the cases of cycloparaphenylenes, peak positions of CC/CC stretches significantly depend on the size of the oligomer (see picture), indicating an enhancement of the quinoidal character of smaller cycloparaphenylenes.
