A surface‐modifier‐assisted photodeposition technique for directly depositing PbS quantum dots on mesoporous TiO 2 nanocrystalline films is developed (see figure). The addition of mercaptoacetic acid (MAA) drastically increases the photodeposition rate and significantly blueshifts the absorption edge. The PbS particle size decreases and the particle size distribution narrows.
