Rewrite the textbooks! Observation of the species H 2 CO 3 has remained an elusive goal for a long time. The recent real‐time observation of formation kinetics of aqueous carbonic acid highlighted herein follows earlier reports of the observation of pure carbonic acid in the gas‐phase and in the solid‐phase.
