Quick and easy: A good estimation of enthalpies of vaporization for imidazolium‐based ionic liquids can be provided from simple far‐infrared spectroscopy (see figure). The measured frequencies in this spectral range indicate intermolecular interactions which have to be overcome before vaporization.
