ZAP! Incorporating electron energy loss spectroscopy with the 4D electron microscope (see figure) enables the analysis of nanoscale materials. A wealth of information about bonding, free carrier densities, interaction timescales, and (in nanostructured materials) waveguide‐like modes and semiconductor band gaps is achievable.
