The hydrogen uptake in NaAlH 4 infiltrated into a microporous carbon fibre matrix is investigated. The composite material exhibits a significant change in its thermodynamic properties as can be seen from the comparison of the pressure composition isotherms of the encapsulated material with the one obtained for bulk NaAlH 4 catalyzed with 4 mol % CeCl 3 (see graph).
