Heterodyne‐detected spectral interferometry with fs IR pulses measures vibrational optical activity free‐induction‐decay fields. By utilizing Brewster's angle germanium polarizers with ultimate extinction ratio over almost the entire IR frequency range, the complex vibrational optical activity susceptibility of small organic chiral molecules in the CC stretching mode region is characterized (see picture).
