Blu‐ray balls: Au 11 clusters were synthesized in the presence of carboxylic‐acid‐terminated thiolated molecules. Due to the protection of the monodisperse clusters from quenchers in the solution by the high‐density ligands, the Au 11 clusters exhibit blue luminescence with a QY of 8.6 % (see picture). They have great potential for applications of novel fluorophores.
