Illumination of the molecular world is an exciting and fascinating interdisciplinary research field and the 96th Titisee conference once again set the stage for a diverse set of scientists to present and discuss the use of optical‐microscopy techniques for unravelling biological processes spanning from the single molecule to complex organisms (see figure showing autofluorescence from a fly).
