Quickly does it: Imaging of transient species along the CI bond dissociation of CH 3 I in the A ‐band is done by means of femtosecond pump–probing and velocity mapping. A crucial novelty is the non‐resonant nature of the probing ionization step, which permits the detection of both transient species and final products of the dissociation process (see picture).
