Supramolecular template : A new intermixed phase of PTCDI (perylene tetra‐carboxylic di‐imide) and melamine on Au(111) surfaces is shown to generate arrays of parallelogram‐shaped pores capable of stabilising C 60 dimers (see figure). The non‐random pore occupancy implies that the supramolecular network imposes a hierarchy of organisation.
