The D & H Color Rule, available since 1967, is useful as a color‐vision test and to check on the specification of secondary standard illuminants. The data of several authors are combined for ready availability as a diagnostic aid. Normal trichromats make responses with the Color Rule that are dependent on age. The apparent yellowing of the lens results in the same change in responses on the Color Rule as by an illuminant change of 50–75 MK −1 .
