MXenes are a class of two‐dimensional transition metal carbides and nitrides with hydrophilic surface. This Communication, for the first time, reports a room temperature‐initiated reaction between octadecyl isocyanate and MXene. This provides a facile and scalable route for introducing long alkane chains to the surface of MXene films. The hydrophobic coatings demonstrate strong ability for protecting MXene against degradation in the presence of moisture.
