Abstract Molecular arrangements of bowl‐shaped molecules, corannulene and sumanene, in single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were investigated using high‐resolution transmission microscopy and near‐infrared photoluminescence spectroscopy. The results indicated that corannulenes are nested in SWCNTs with a random orientation, whereas sumanenes form stacked structures. The trends are consistent with the molecular orientations of corannulene and sumanene in single crystals.
