Upconversion (UC) light emission and propagation properties of lanthanide ions doped (Ln‐doped) microcrystals are essential for related optical applications, such as display, lasers, and bioimaging. This contribution presents excitation position sensitive emission and light distribution around Yb 3+ /Er 3+ /Tm 3+ doped β‐NaYF 4 microcrystals, such as disks and rods. The cover art depicts excited position/crystal facet dependent anisotropic colorful emission in β‐NaYF 4 microdisks and microrods, owing to light self‐absorption in crystals.
