Lesions were made in the dorsal basal lobe of the Octopus. The size and the region of these lesions were related to the animals' capacity to learn a simple visual discrimination and to the level of attack maintained during training. No significant relationship was found between the discrimination scores and the size of the lesion but there was evidence that the position of the lesion influenced discrimination.
