ll'Iuch has been written concerning cortical localizationits probable presence or absence, its degree, the basis of its representation, and those factors which underlie or determine it. In the following pages the author is venturing to consider this very interesting problem by stressing certain factssome of them well known, others little thought of in this connection, still others new in certain details-which emphasize another phase of the underlying causes and suggest the inevitability, so to speak, of such an organization.
