Cancer disproportionately impacts racial/ethnic minority groups, yet they remain underrepresented in cancer clinical trials. This commentary highlights strategies for consideration by the pharmaceutical industry to ensure diversity in therapeutic clinical trials that reflects known incidence and burden of cancer and allows appropriate interpretation of risk/benefit with emerging therapies.
