While meeting conventional thresholds for cost‐effectiveness, the care of children with cancer in low and middle‐income countries is compromised by limited access to affordable medicines of high quality. Survival prospects are constrained further by high rates of abandonment of therapy, which are linked to socioeconomic disadvantage and the financial toxicity experienced by families in the care of their children with malignant disease.
